PART I: Two-Hour Presentation
(1) Two-Hour Presentation Student Assessment
I think I deserve and AE- or P+ because with my communication, creativity and Audience Involvement I deserve an AE but with my organization I deserve a P, and my essential question content and lesson props I deserve a P+
(2) What are you most proud of in your 2 hour presentation and why?
I am most proud of my first activity. I think it was very creative and I went far and beyond so the students will enjoy it and get a real life experience on using the makeup and the makeup brushes. AE right there.
PART II: Overall Senior Project Experience
(3) What do you think you did well on in the project? What could you have done better? Please explain.
My service learning because it is where I learned the most and supported my answers through my experiences.
(4) What is your EQ and what is the best answer to your EQ?
What is the most important skill needed to succeed as a free-lance makeup artist. My answer: Networking
(5) How has the last month of culminating events (e.g I-Search, Two-Hour, Exit etc) affected your answer to your EQ? Has it changed? Why or why not?
Well it helped to organize and reevaluate what should be my answers because I had to look back at my previous research, but the 3 columns helped me the most. It was around that time also when I did my 4th interview with Jasmin Hodges, she helped give me my best answer and also to change my essential question. The exit interview helped me to prepare for my 2 hour since I had ideas from the teachers would be evaluating my 2 hour presentation. There input helped me to backup my best answer.
(6) What suggestions do you have in order to improve the senior project?
I think the final projects at the end (creative expression, I-search, exit interview, service learning and 2 hour) should try and be spread out a little more.
(7) Overall Senior Project Assessment
P, because I've meet the requirements for everything throughout the year.

(1) LIA Response to blog:

• I would go to the Smart set beauty salon or to the ladies house and see her put on makeup up on women and while she would explain to me what she would be applying and using. I would also pay attention when she would explain what she would do before having a client, such as setting the makeup stand out and making it look clean and tidy and how you should act with a client. I have so far done 80 hours and recently was doing it this week Wednesday and Thursday. I think I will be doing it whenever she calls to tell me to go to the salon so it could be I go in 3-5 days for 5-12 hours a day. Weekdays it's single digit hours and weekends it's 2 digit hours.

The most important thing I gained from the experience was knowing how to apply different makeup looks to multiple females of different ages and ethnicities. This was important to me because each makeup look Ana would do I would be so amazed and intrigued by how well she can do the same makeup look and make it work on different women. I think what was most fascinating was when some customers would come inside the beauty salon and wouldn't know the exact look they wanted and Ana would talk, ask questions, and then explain to the customer in detail what colors she will use, and then she would ask the customer for there approval. The best part was when she was finished, the customer would love how Ana did the makeup look, and these were the same people who would come not knowing what they wanted exactly!Applied
How did what you did help you answer your EQ? Please explain.
It gave me an answer for my EQ because I found that this was an important skill for being a free-lance makeup artist. I found that when I worked with Ana each client would want different makeup looks. The importance of knowing different makeup looks is necessary because you have you have to give the exact look the client is asking for. Also it's good to know how to put the makeup look on multiple women that have a variety of ages and and race. That's why it's good to practice on multiple women in order to create different makeup looks.

2 hour presentation rough draft
Please address what you plan to do for the following:
(1) What is your sponge activity?
My sponge activity will be showing videos of multiple makeup looks or either showing a slideshow of pictures of different makeup looks and what kind of makeup artist is focused on those makeup looks. Thoroughly explain each makeup look and the makeup artist type.
(2) What do you plan to do and say in the introduction?*
Introduce myself to the class, say what my EQ is and what it means, and then go over my game plan.
(3) What do you plan to say in your foundation?
I will talk about the history of makeup and how it has become necessary now in the industrial world
(4) What will your 2 or 3 answers be for your 2 hour?
Well I will explain the important skills needed in free-lance makeup artist. I will talk about knowing the basics of makeup and in applying it and practice in applying different makeup looks. Then I will describe the type of makeup in certain business/industries, the business aspect and connections needed as a free-lance makeup artist and last will be the my best answer which is knowing how to network.
(5) What activities will you do for each answer and why?
for the first activity I will have 4 tables and have makeup on each table with a photo of a certain makeup look. The students will be in 4 groups and each group has to go to one of the tables and the group has to try there best to copy the makeup look. they will have 15 minutes and then I will give them a different makeup look but this time they will have step-by-step visual instructions in how to apply the makeup look and I will ask them which was better the previous or the one that had the step-by-step instructions and this will go with my first explanation because I explained the application of makeup and the basics and it shows the students that you need to know the basics and not just put on makeup, they have to know how to apply the makeup correctly and they will also see that it's not simple. The second activity I will separate the students in half and one half will have papers in which it says what kind of makeup artist they are and what industry they work in. The other half will have papers in which they have the makeup artist they want and what qualities the makeup artist has. The half that are the makeup artists need to communicate with the people who are looking for makeup artists and tell them who they are and basically market themselves in order to get work since I talk about the makeup in certain businesses and the business aspect, along with the connections. The third activity is when I will check for understanding. The class will be in 4 groups as they were in the first activity and I will ask questions and the leader of the groups are the ones who answer the questions and whichever group has the most correct answers, wins.
(6) How do you plan to conclude your 2 hour?*
I will talk about my 2 important sources and why they're important to me, what I gained from my whole senior project and just what I will take with me in the future as my product.
(7) How do you plan to decorate the room?
The room will have no desks at all, just 4 tables in each corner of the room and the students will sit on the floor with the numbers 1,2,3,4 in a row. I think I'll put my makeup work up in certain stands that can hold the images or either I will staple them to the walls.
(8) What supplies/resources will you need to make your 2 hour possible?
I will need makeup which I will get from my service learner probably, 4 tables, 4 black tablecloths and that's about it

(a) I, Sasha Mejia, affirm that I completed my independent component which represents 30 hours of work.
(b) I completed my independent task which was to apply makeup on a variety of women. I didn't know how to edit a video at all so I couldn't do any makeup tutorials and I didn't take a class.
Interpretive
I have spent a lot of time applying makeup on many women of different ages and of ethnic race also. I tried different makeup looks and even did some creative work of my own. While doing this, my makeup skills were increasing and what used to be difficult, such as applying false lashes or doing a smoky eye is so simple and easy now. My time has also been faster now in applying makeup and I've started to do some of my clients hair just to add the glam to the pictures I take. Also tome it showed how different face structures are and what works and what doesn't
Applied
Well this whole independent task has helped me in answering my EQ b/c it takes a lot of practice to apply makeup not only on yourself but on a variety of women from different age groups and race. That's why it's important as a makeup artist to apply makeup on any women and it takes a lot of practice to develop that skill of understanding that face structure which can help bring those clients back, so that you can do there makeup again.
